In order to achieve our goals each year, we rely on donations from patrons, family and friends of the ballet. Formerly City Dance Theatre, Dallas Ballet Company (DBCo) is a non-profit entity organized in 1989 to operate a dance company for the pre-professional dancer. Company members are selected annually in open auditions for pre-professional dancers of all levels.
What makes us special?
OUR FULL SEASON OF PERFORMANCES:
DBCo,'s fall production, Les Danses d’Automne, is a celebration of dance that includes a new work by renowned choreographer, Christina Ghiardi. It is a delightful afternoon of ballet showcasing both contemporary and classical ballet performances.
For more than 35 years, Dallas Ballet Company has presented The Nutcracker to sold out audiences in North Texas. Our current performance schedule is a multi-week effort including six performances and two dress rehearsals dedicated to local elementary students.
En Avant, DBCo's spring benefit performance, exemplifies the joy of dance as it highlights all members of Dallas Ballet Company. Comprised primarily of original works set on Dallas Ballet Company dancers, this is always an exciting show for our audience.
Each spring, Dallas Ballet Company presents a full length classical ballet in conjunction with Dallas Ballet Center. In the past, Dallas Ballet Company has performed a variety of ballets including Swan Lake, Coppelia, Sleeping Beauty, La Fille mal Gardee, Raymonda, Le Corsaire, and Don Quixote.
In addition to these scheduled shows, Dallas Ballet Company attends the Regional Dance America local and national events each year.
FOCUS ON STUDENT TRAINING, GROWTH, AND OPPORTUNITY:
Along with performance opportunities, Dallas Ballet Company remains dedicated to providing the highest quality ballet and dance training to all levels of dancers. Company resources are used to secure master teachers that provide otherwise unattainable training opportunities. With this sizeable roster of regular guest teachers, Dallas Ballet Company dancers often have the opportunity to learn from artists such as Jason Fowler, Olivier Pardina, Christina Ghiardi, Silas Farley, and Seth Belliston.
Additionally, Dallas Ballet Company provides scholarships for our dancers to support them as they seek to continue and expand their training.
COMMITMENT TO COMMUNITY:
Spreading the love of dance in North Texas and the rest of the world is important to us. Our dancers, faculty, and patrons are continually looking for ways Dallas Ballet Company can impact the lives of others through dance. From performing at Children’s Medical Center Dallas, to creating complimentary immersive ballet experiences for local children, to inspiring the elderly through remote meet and greets, Dallas Ballet Company has a love of ballet and a heart of service.
The mission of the Dallas Ballet Company is to provide quality pre-professional training and performance opportunities to aspiring dancers in a disciplined and nurturing environment, encouraging personal accomplishment and fostering a life long appreciation of dance.
At Dallas Ballet Company, our mission is to foster a life-long appreciation of dance, benefiting both our local community and the future of the dance arts. We are deeply committed to ensuring that this appreciation is nurtured in an environment where diversity, equity, and inclusion are at the forefront of our efforts.
We believe that dance should be accessible to everyone. Through inclusive programming, educational outreach, and community engagement, we strive to create opportunities for all individuals to experience the joy and transformative power of dance.
Our commitment to equity extends beyond our performances and into every aspect of our organization. We actively work to support dancers from underrepresented communities, providing them with the resources, mentorship, and platforms needed to thrive both on stage and in life. By fostering a more inclusive and diverse dance community, we contribute to the growth and evolution of the arts, ensuring a vibrant and dynamic future for dance.
Join us as we work to create a culture of equity and inclusion in the arts, enriching the lives of our community members and paving the way for the next generation of dancers.
