Since 1911, Rotary Club of Dallas has dedicated itself to making Dallas a better place for all in which to live. Stimulating weekly programs, fellowship activities and service opportunities define the Rotary Club of Dallas. Some of the programs include: mentoring at-risk students, providing personalized books to encourage reading for low income kindergartners, saluting American veterans, encouraging bike safety to elementary children, teaching high school students about the free enterprise system, and providing clean water to villages in Africa. Service to others transforms your life and Rotary is where you learn how.
Our Needs
We provide a variety of programs to the community that we are seeking support for:
The Dream Team Mentoring & Scholarship Program The "Dream Team" mentors high school students. The team consists of Rotarians and spouses who help bright, at-risk students succeed in high school, prepare for college and life. Each year we award scholarships, and helping students find other scholarship sources.
"I Like Me" Book Literacy Program In cooperation with other volunteers, Club members annually read to some 3,000 kindergartners in the Dallas Public Schools and then give each a personalized book to encourage them to develop a joy for reading.
Safer Dallas Better Dallas is a partnership to support our Dallas Police Officers and safety in the community. We hold activities with Dallas Youth, provide services and supplies to our law enforcement that are not provided by the City and hold a tournament in their honor each year.
Salute to America's Veterans: Recognized as a premier Veteran's Day Celebration in the City of Dallas, the program honors America's active military and veterans and raises money to support the DFW-USO and other veteran organizations.
Clean Water Initiative This program is to provide clean, safe drinking water in developing nations. With almost a billion people on the planet without access to clean drinking water, we are trying to do our part by building water wells in these areas.
