Dallas Youth Sports
20 Years of Service
It’s a humble experience for our organization as we celebrate 20 years of service to our community.
Our History/Service began in 2004. Dallas Youth Sports started with 36 registered players. In 2023, we served over 10,000 youth and their families through sports leagues, camps, and community events.
We were founded as Dallas Youth Baseball, a City of Dallas Recreation program consisting of City of Dallas employees and a group of volunteers. One of the volunteers is our current Executive Director, J.R. Huerta.
In 2009, we became an independent organization operated by volunteers. In 2012, Dallas Youth Athletic Association (DYAA) was established as a non-profit organization, 501(c)(3), which incorporated Dallas Youth Baseball and Soccer.
Now in 2023, with our group of over 500 volunteers, we have come together to provide services to our community, especially our youth. We provide affordable recreational sports to the youth of Dallas and surrounding cities. In addition, we host community events such as Back-to-School, food giveaways, financial classes, youth sports camps, Community Night Out, and holiday events including Halloween and Christmas.
Our Mission is to promote education, leadership, discipline, health, and wellness through sports. We believe that every child regardless of race, gender, and/or level of play should have the opportunity to play sports in a friendly, family-oriented setting. Our Sports include soccer, baseball, softball, basketball, and flag football.
Our Education Partners include but are not limited to Dallas Independent School District and Trinity Basin Preparatory Schools who have helped us influence over 150,000 youth and their families.
On behalf of Dallas Youth Sports, we thank you for taking the time to consider this event. Keep in mind that funds raised are used for our various sports and a higher education scholarship that are awarded seasonally/yearly.
