We are the Dallas / Fort Worth Chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue also known as DFW Boxer Rescue. We are a group of dedicated volunteers that are excited to carry on the ABR mission of giving Boxers in Texas their second chance.
We adopt all over the state of Texas! Over the last year and half, Austin Boxer Rescue has expanded to include other chapters across the state. We all work together to save boxers from around the state. We have foster homes in several major cities (Austin, San Antonio, Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth) and a kennel facility in Hewitt. Having chapters statewide allows us to help more boxers and also means that if you live anywhere in Texas, we can find a way to connect you with your boxer match! When you are approved to adopt from us, one of our wonderful Adoption Counselor’s will help you find the perfect furry addition to your family.
To balance the health, safety, and welfare needs of canines in the state of Texas by providing nourishment and a safe environment for unwanted, stray, abused, and impounded Boxers. Once placed in new homes they become more than just pets, they become family.
This year we're challenging our fans and supporters to help us raise $15,000 because we have a HUGE NEED!
DFWBR and our partners Austin Boxer Rescue and Lone Star Boxer Rescue have reached a point where we need to purchase a new transport van. Our current van still runs, but it has surpassed 300k miles and the air conditioner has been worked on multiple times. We use this van for everything: to transport dogs from the shelter to our transition kennel in Hewitt or foster homes throughout the state and the kennel dogs to Adoption Events in DFW and Austin. The van's breakdowns have caused events to be canceled and transports to be delayed. Texas's extreme heat has made this too much of a safety issue for our dogs and we have decided we can't do another summer in our current van. We haven't been able to find a used van for sale that fits our needs, so we have ordered one totaling $58,255! We’re kicking off North Texas Giving Day with a HUGE goal that reflects the love and dedication we know you all have for the boxer breed. Donate TODAY!
