Tuskegee University has been a beacon of excellence for over a century, producing leaders who shape our world. As proud alumni, the Dallas-Fort Worth Tuskegee Alumni Club (DFWTAC) carries forward this legacy of innovation, service, and achievement. The DFWTAC is more than just an alumni group – we're a family dedicated to nurturing the next generation of Tuskegee graduates.

Our Mission: To support and inspire current Tuskegee students from the Dallas-Fort Worth area, ensuring they have the resources and encouragement to thrive academically and personally.

Our 2024 Goal: $5,000 

Your donation will directly fund:

  • 2024 Book Scholarships
    • We will be awarding a total of six (three per semester) - $500 Book scholarships for the 2024 - 2025 school year.
  • 2024 Semester Care Packages
    • Each semester we send care packages filled with snacks and quick meals to students as they begin preparing for semester final exams. 


About Tuskegee University:
Tuskegee University is a private, historically black land-grant university in Tuskegee, Alabama. The campus is designated as a National Historic Site, the only college or university campus in the nation to be designated as such. The university was home to scientist George Washington Carver, World War II's Tuskegee Airmen, and American educator, author, orator, and first Principal Booker T. Washington.

Tuskegee University offers 43 bachelor's degree programs, 17 master's degree programs, and 5 doctoral degree programs. Number one producer of African-American aerospace science engineers in the nation. Tuskegee is a leading producer in the country of African-American engineering graduates in Chemical, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering; the top producer of African-American Ph.D. holders in Materials Science and Engineering in the U.S.; and the largest producer of African-Americans with baccalaureate degrees in Math, Science, and Engineering in Alabama. Tuskegee University is the only historically black college or university (HBCU) with a fully accredited College of Veterinary Medicine that offers a Doctoral Degree and produces over 75% of the African-American veterinarians in the world.

Mission

The Dallas - Fort Worth Tuskegee Alumni Club (DFWTAC) is one of the 80 chapters of the Tuskegee National Alumni Association (TNAA). As part of the Southwest Region of National Alumni Associations, DFWTAC is composed of Tuskegee University alumni and associates who reside and work in the Dallas - Fort Worth metroplex. We are business professionals, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, and proud alumni of Tuskegee Institute/Tuskegee University.

The mission of the Dallas-Fort Worth Tuskegee Alumni Club is to foster a sense of community among Tuskegee University alumni in the DFW area while upholding Tuskegee University's values of scholarship, leadership, and service. We strive to ensure that the spirit of Tuskegee lives on in the DFW community.

The purpose of the Dallas - Fort Worth Tuskegee Alumni Club is to promote and encourage support for the general goals and objectives of the Tuskegee National Alumni Association; encourage participation in and support of Tuskegee University, TNAA, and Southwest Region activities; and improve alumni support for Tuskegee University through fundraising, educational information and services, student recruitment, student aid, leadership and local alumni unity of purpose.

The DFWTAC is committed to promoting equity in education. We recognize the systemic barriers that many students face and strive to provide support that levels the playing field. Our scholarships and aid programs are designed to empower students from diverse backgrounds, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder academic potential or career aspirations.

Our Impact Since 2018:

- Provided $70,000 in scholarships and student aid

- Provided semester book scholarships totaling $13,500

- Awarded $37,500 in DFWTAC Incoming Freshman Scholarships

- Distributed $7,450 in emergency student aid

- Sent care packages worth $4,120 to support student well-being

- Established the Dora Joyner Legacy Scholarship in 2021, awarding $7,000 to date
