Mission

The mission of the Fannin County Children's Center is promoting safety and improving the lives of abused and neglected children.

Needs

The Children's Center needs:

1. Volunteers: to serve as CASA advocates for children in foster care, to keep our Rainbow Room organized, to help with special events, including our School Supply Drive and Christmas Drive. See our agency website for more info and to apply.

2. Items for the Rainbow Rooms: new clothing for children ages 0-18, new shoes, baby wipes and personal hygiene products.

3. Champions of Children: generous donors who set up an automatic, monthly gift!

Equity Statement

Diversity and Teamwork is one of the organizational values that was first adopted by the Fannin County Children's Center in 2006 and has been reaffirmed by our board several times since then. We value diversity and the strengths each person has to offer and we believe that by working together, everyone achieves more. Systemic racism and injustice are complex challenges in our community and country. While child abuse happens among people of all races, religions and economic situations, we do know that black children are overrepresented in all stages of the child welfare and foster care systems. We are committed to pursuing diversity, equity, justice and cultural competence to ensure that we provide high quality, culturally competent services to all children, youth and families we serve.
