Friends of Furneaux Creek (Carrollton, TX) is a city-approved, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization volunteer group, allowing friends, families and neighbors to take an active part in beautifying and enhancing the greenbelt. We call this area the Furneaux Creek Nature Trail, starting near the intersection of Hebron Parkway at Arbor Creek Drive, next to the trail head for the City of Carrollton's Blue Trail.

We are a neighborhood group of Carrollton citizens who are interested in enhancing the Green Belt along Furneaux Creek Nature Trail in Carrollton. We have planted over 410 trees and 105 shrubs plus numerous flowers along the trail. We also provide and maintain Bluebird and Owl boxes along the trail. Enhancements and maintenance to the trail are made solely from efforts of volunteers.

In addition to trail maintenance, we host neighborhood events annually to provide the community with activities where residents and neighbors can meet, be involved, enjoy the trail, learn about the plants, wildlife and the environment.  Our monthly events include a bird walk and a trail week, hosted on different Saturdays of each month.

Mission

To bring people together to enhance, improve, beautify and enjoy the greenbelt area along Furneaux Creek Blue Trail by sharing ideas, resources and information.

Needs

Our organization needs funds and volunteer hours to continue building our Nature Trail by adding and maintaining native trees, bushes, and flowers, including lawn maintenance equipment.
