Our Goals

Provide a home for children who have been displaced for various reasons.Provide a safe environment that offers support in healthy lifestyles, education, and permanency.
Provide an environment that encourages independence and offers guidance and assistance as each child transitions into adulthood.
Provide caring foster parents, mentors, and collaborative agencies that will inspire and encourage both parents and children.

Our Beliefs
At the Geary Foster Foundations, we believe that each child;
      is a unique individual with potential for growth;
      has the right to a safe, respectful, and supportive environment;
      has strengths, value, and worth;
      should be treated with integrity, compassion, and non-judgment.

Mission

Geary Foster Foundations has a mission to provide homes that are built on strong foundations where foster parents and mentors encourage strength, value, and self-worth for each foster child that enters its walls as a refuge. Under the supervision of a child placement agency, each child will be supported and provided a respectful environment for healing where they will have the opportunity to safely grow and become productive members of society.

Needs

We are building eight independent foster homes. Our homes are located on a twelve acre tract that will be developed to offer support in a community setting. Three homes are complete, open and fostering, and we are currently raising funds to build a Pavilion that will offer a place for celebration, socialization, and help create a sense of community and pride. We operate debt free; therefore, we are soliciting building materials, monetary donations and any professional services to facilitate the build.

Community playground:

A community playground is the heart of a community and an indispensable gathering place that can benefit everyone. It provides children the opportunity to practice and develop skills including social, emotional, cognitive and physical skills. Children learn through play and interacting with others. "Children need the freedom and time to play. Play is not a luxury. Play is a necessity." Kay Redfield Jamison

Gigi's Foster Closet:

Gigi's Clost is a 480 sq. ft. building that was donated for the purpose of providing clothing and essential items to foster children in the surrounding communities. We are looking for an organization/club/group to oversee the operation of the closet. Services needed range from documenting inventory, to cleaning and preparing donations, to stocking and filling the bins.

Community Center:

We are seeking donations for a 3000+ building that will be used as an Activitiy Center/Communtiy Center. This facility will not only allow the families to participate in gatherings and activities, but will also provide an area for tutoring, therapy and counseling.

Equity Statement

Geary Foster Foundations is committed to strengthening our relationships and building partnerships with people, organizations, and businesses who reflect the diverse identities and cultures of the children and families we serve. Our mission is to provide homes that are built on strong foundations where foster parents and mentors encourage strength, value, and self-worth for each foster child that enters its walls. Each child will be supported and provided a respectful environment for healing where they will have the opportunity to safely grow and their individualism is celebrated.
