This North Texas Giving Day, Goodwill Industries of Dallas is reaching out with an ambitious goal: to raise $10,000 to support the purchase of a wheelchair accessible van and community outings for those enrolled in our Empowerment Works program!
At Goodwill, we change lives, one job at a time. For more than one hundred years, Goodwill has helped individuals with barriers to employment transform their lives through the power of jobs. Goodwill achieves its mission through two closely integrated programs: our Donated Goods Retail social enterprise and our Workforce Development program.
Donated Goods Retail offers more than just a place to shop – it provides direct employment through the recycling and reselling of material donations across our nineteen stores, seven attended donation centers, Retail Operations Center, and our headquarters. By recycling and reselling donated items, we not only help our environment by diverting more than 26 million pounds of goods from landfills, but also reinvest all revenue into creating job opportunities for individuals with barriers to employment.
Our Workforce Development program utilizes a person-centered approach to upskilling, industry specific skills training, and job placement to support individuals in reaching their life goals. Goodwill Dallas serves eight counties in North Texas including Dallas, Ellis, Kaufman, Navarro, Rains, Rockwall, and parts of Denton and Collin counties.
