Hunger Busters

A nonprofit organization

Hunger Busters is a Dallas-based charity focused on feeding kids and fueling futures by providing a much-needed third meal of the day to food-insecure children in Dallas Independent School District through its signature "Feed the Need" after school program.

Over the past year our organization made a major pivot to survive the crises at hand. We successfully transitioned into serving not only kids, but their families too. That's why, this next year, we have decided to continue forward with a hybrid feeding program. We saw that there was a big need for the family boxes and student meals. We are setting out to continue to meet that need in 2021 with a goal of raising $100,000.

Our Needs

Hunger Busters' goal is to provide the 3rd meal of the day to Dallas school children. In order to do so, our organization could benefit from increased exposure and awareness within the DFW community. Our immediate goal for the year is to increase meal production to 14,500 sandwiches a day which would cover 10% of food-insecure children attending Dallas schools.

We deliver all of our meals directly to students. We also pickup all of our supplies from donors and vendors. Funds raised would go directly into buying product to provide for these kids and families.

Mission

To provide a much-needed third meal of the day to food-insecure children in Dallas Independent School District.

Equity Statement

Our mission is to make sure every student has their third meal of the day and since food insecurity has no racial bias, we don't either.
