For over 95 years, the Junior League of Fort Worth, Inc. (JLFW) has been advancing women's leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training. Founded in 1929, JLFW is a charitable nonprofit organization committed to educational and charitable purposes.

How We Make a Difference

1. JLFW Diaper Bank: Founded in 2020, the JLFW Diaper Bank is committed to eliminating diaper need and improving the well-being of children and adults across Tarrant County. We provide diapers at no cost to local nonprofit partners serving individuals affected by poverty, mobility issues, or health limitations. In partnership with the Tarrant Area Food Bank, we have distributed over 2 million diapers to nearly 100 nonprofit agencies.

  • Diaper Need Facts:
    • In 2023, 47% of families reported diaper need.
    • More than 25% of those families skipped meals to afford diapers.
    • One in four parents missed work due to insufficient diapers, leading to an average wage loss of $296 per month.

2. Supporting Community Agencies: In the 2024-2025 year, JLFW will allocate $400,000 and deploy 80 volunteers across 8 Community Projects. We will also engage with 24 community agencies and utilize 200 volunteers for various placements.

  • Community Impact Advisor and Community Impact Coordinator: Facilitate partnerships and guide nonprofits through the application process.
  • Placement Committee and Project Research & Development Committee: Manage the placement process and project selection.
  • Project Development Advisor and Team Lead Co-Advisors: Support project management and ensure effective volunteer coordination.
  • Day of Giving and Done in a Day: Organize large-scale volunteer events and ongoing community service opportunities.

3. Additional Programs and Grant Funds: In addition to addressing diaper need and partnering with local agencies, JLFW addresses community needs through several other initiatives and programs, including:

  • Paint a Playground: Aims to create a bright, welcoming environment on school playgrounds to inspire physical activity and bolster student mental health.
  • Junior MINTS: Working to level the gap in education in providing trained volunteers in Fort Worth schools with limited community involvement and support.

Your support on North Texas Giving Day enables us to continue these critical efforts. Every donation helps sustain our programs and expand our impact across Fort Worth.

Thank you for supporting the Junior League of Fort Worth and helping us drive positive change in our community!
