For some folks, the inability to pay a medical bill or afford a car repair can start a spiral of financial hardship. Although the amount may be small, clients in these circumstances do not have a safety net. Through our community partners, clients are identified who would benefit from a small monetary amount paid to resolve back due rent, emergency health bills or repair to their vehicle. Often times the amounts are too small for our community partners to be able to offer immediate help. Once the immediate crisis is resolved, our community partners look at the long term needs of these clients to ensure they have a sustainable plan going forward. We have countless examples of clients who have been saved from eviction, or who were able to afford repairs to their vehicle in order to be able to go to work. We truly fill a need in the community.

Our Needs

Over 40,000 people in Denton County live with an income below the poverty level. Over 10,000 children under the age of 18 live with an income below the poverty level. Knight-Light Charities seeks to aid those who have a temporary crisis and need immediate assistance with their rent, medical services, utility bills, or food.
We also operate a large community garden supplying fresh fruits and vegetables to the Salvation Army soup kitchen.

Mission

OUR MISSION KLCI provides immediate financial assistance to low-income individuals and families in the Lewisville, Flower Mound and Highland Village area who suddenly find themselves facing devastating financial crisis. We work with local charitable organizations to identify qualified people needing our assistance. We can respond quickly to meet that need. With minimal overhead funded by our Board of Directors, 100% of donated funds go to the people needing financial assistance.

Needs

Our organization provides immediate financial support for individuals that have fallen into financial distress and are in danger of losing their home and/or means of transportation. Our our only need is cash donations to continue this mission.

Equity Statement

Emergency Financial Support is provided to individuals recommended by our partners that provide the social service to qualify individuals regardless of race, religion or ethnic background.
