Laundry Love Fort Worth, part of the larger Laundry Love movement, began as a mission of St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church. As the mission grew, Laundry Love Fort Worth became its own non-profit organization in 2019.
The Laundry Love movement began when a homeless man in Ventura, California, was asked “How can we come along side your life in a meaningful way?” His response was honest and practical, and gave those asking the idea of Laundry Love.
Laundry Love Fort Worth, with the support of a growing group of community volunteers, serves approximately 100 individuals, including 65 families in southwest and west Fort Worth each month through two laundry day. Additional clients are served through the laundry card system, allowing them to utilize one of our laundrymat partners when their individual schedules permit.
We provide three main services at our Laundry Days:
- Free laundry services, including washers/dryers, detergent, bleach, and dryer sheets.
- A Kids Club to engage children in creative activities so their parents may focus on the laundry.
- Food and snacks for the duration of events.
