Founded in 2019 and transitioning to an official 501c(3) non-profit in October 2020, Love & Paws Rescue is on a mission to save the most at-risk dogs in Texas. We are 100% run by volunteers and 100% funded by donations. As we approach our 5th year in action, we have saved over 300 dogs, cats, and pigs.

Our volunteers work tirelessly to not only save lives, but change them for the better. Love & Paws Rescue focuses on making sure every dog is ready for a forever home in terms of sociability, health, and overall adoptability. We take all the time needed to rehabilitate the dogs in our care and get them the best vet care to ensure that they are healthy. We treat our foster dogs as the deserving animals that we know they are and it shows in their transformations. Every dog that comes through our doors is forever a part of the Love & Paws family.

Mission

Love & Paws Rescue is a small foster based dog rescue in Fort Worth, Texas. Our mission is to save the most at-risk dogs in Texas. We take in strays, owner surrenders, and also pull from shelters with high euthanasia rates and low communtiy support. We focus on quality over quantity for the dogs that need it most, taking all the time they need to be rehabilitated and all of the care they require to be healthy and happy in every aspect of life.

Needs

#1 Training Support for Transitions

We currently have 7 dogs in our care, and all have been with our rescue right at, or over, a year now. We pride ourselves on taking in the dogs others overlook, but with that can come specific personalities, traits, and needs that require more time to find the right forever family. We recently changed our adoption process for these dogs, in hopes to not only help these adoptions stick- but thrive.

Our first NTX Giving Day goal is $10,000 to cover the unique training needs of each dog in our care. To help each dog and family in their forever home transition, a training program will be part of their adoption trial to ensure all involved our set up for long-term success. Visit our fundraising campaigns to learn about each dog and how you can support them!

#2 Transport Assistance

In late 2023, we had our first out-of-state adoption transport and haven’t looked back! Our dogs have had great success being adopted in states like Colorado and Arizona, and we average at least one transport a month. These transports are done voluntarily by Maddie, Magellan, and a couple of our amazing supporters. We use our own cars, and the rescue covers gas and lodging when needed. Each transport ranges from $200-$500+ pending the number of dogs, stops, and distance.

Our second NTX Giving Day goal is $5,000 to help support the success of out of state adoption transports.

#3 Foster Homes

Are you interested in opening your home to a furry friend in our care? We provide EVERYTHING you'll need- you just have to open your home and heart!

Equity Statement

Love and Paws Rescue believes in diversity and inclusivity in all aspects of our work and service. A broad lens of equity and diversity has a positive impact on the animals in our care, and helps us better serve clients, volunteers, and our entire community. We believe that no one should be judged on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ability or level of income, just as no dog should be judged based on their breed or background. We believe in collaboration with other organizations and institutions within the community to help achieve the equity to which all humans and animals are entitled. Love and Paws Rescue is not just about compassion for animals- it's about who we are at the core and standing up for what is right for all involved.
