The Missionary COGIC over the past 24 years have provided quality affordable developmental child care, after school programs and summer camps in our community. We are revitalizing our efforts to again bring the vital programs to out community plus a full Christian Academy serving grades K3-12. Missionary COGIC has also provided education and on the job training for adults as well as life coaching and mentor programs. Missionary COGIC will also be adding a new resource for the community called Big Kidz Sports this fall. This resource will offer free sports programs to the community along with classes that will educate the children and parents who will participate in the program. We will also offer volunteer hours, coaching , Big brother and Big sister mentoring program to younger participants, free training classes, college advisory seminars for student athletes, free SAT and ACT prep classes for high school students, free tutoring and free meals for all programs mentioned.
We are in need of supplies for our schools, funds to train teachers, food service workers, bus drivers, webmasters, social media specialist, computer specialist etc. We are also asking for funds to update our current building to insure safety for our children, staff and community. We are also asking for funds to revitalize our playground to bring it up to the Child Care minimum standards . We are also asking for funds to complete a commercial kitchen in our school so that we will be able to serve free breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner to the community.
The Mission of the COGIC Urban Initiatives is to empower the local church and community to implement programs that address education, economic development, crime, family and financial literacy. These programs will result in improving individuals, families and communities served by the Church Of God In Christ.
We need financial support to continue and expand our Early Childhood Development, At-risk Youth, and Before and Afterschool Programs. We also need people interested in career training in the following professions: Early Childhood/Secondary Education, Secretarial Science, Information Technology, Security Services, Food Services, Transportation Services, and Facilities Management.
