Since 2014, we have been giving bikes to people living with MS so that they can become more active. To date, we have given almost 400 bikes nationwide. Money raised through North Texas Giving Day has been vital in supporting our local riders who are on the wait list for bikes. Last year, we helped several people in this area receive bikes because of these donations, and they successfully rode in the BikeMS Round Up Ride: Texas-- some of them completing both days totaling over 150 miles. But, it's more than the miles they ride. The gift of a Meat Bike is the gift of community. It's the gift of friendship and camaraderie. It's meeting someone else who is going through exactly what you're going through, and choosing to ride together to find a cure for this thing. We want a cure for MS. And in the meantime, we're determined to make people feel better. Because of your donations, we get to help a lot of people get on the road to reduced symptoms and better quality of life.
Meat Fight's original program, Meat Bike, gives a complete road bike, e-bike or recumbent trike package (including helmet, water bottle, cycling shorts and more) to people who are diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis so that they can participate in Bike MS.
Regular exercise is proven to reduce stress and improve quality of life for those living with MS-- and for all of us. Right now, the gift of a bike can help someone living with MS immediately feel a little better, and immediately get locked into a community of over 500 team riders. Providing our riders with a community of online friends and accountability support is also a super mood booster!
Each bike and starter kit (which includes a road bike, helmet, shoes, clips, water bottles and more) costs Meat Fight $1000. Recumbent Trike packages are $3000.
Every dollar gets us closer to helping someone. Thank you for your support of North Texas nonprofits, and thank you to Communities Foundation of Texas for making this day happen.
Meat Fight's goal is to support people living with Multiple Sclerosis to take on regular exercise as a lifestyle, and to support research to find a cure for MS.
Each bike and starter kit (which includes a road bike, helmet, shoes, clips, water bottles and more) costs Meat Fight $1000. Recumbent Trike packages are $3000.
We aim to promote fairness, empowerment and hope for all individuals.
