Our Needs

Minnie's Food Pantry is a remarkable nonprofit organization dedicated to providing healthy meals, educational resources, and exceptional care to children and families in need across North Texas. Since our establishment in 2008, we have remained at the forefront of serving our communities, standing out as one of the few food pantries that do not discriminate based on zip code. This year, we are proud to announce that we have surpassed a monumental milestone, providing over 28 million meals to those facing hunger.

Although we would love to celebrate this achievement, we recognize that there is still much work to be done. Inflation rates are on the rise, causing the cost of essential items to increase by over 10%. As a result, more families are turning to us for assistance each day, as the need for food continues to grow. Unfortunately, we are also experiencing shortages and bare shelves in our retail partner stores, exacerbating the challenge.

In this crucial time, we are emphasizing the significance of North Texas Giving Day, our largest fundraising event of the year. Your support and contributions make an enormous difference in our ongoing fight against hunger. With your help, we can continue to serve those in need, ensuring that no one goes hungry in our communities.

Please consider making a donation during North Texas Giving Day to support our mission. Every contribution, no matter how small, goes a long way in helping us provide nourishment and support to those who need it most. Thank you for your continued support and for joining us in the fight against hunger. Together, we can make a lasting impact in the lives of countless individuals and families in North Texas.

FEED JUST ONE: Minnie's Food Pantry proudly serves our communities through our convenient drive-thru service, available every Wednesday to Saturday from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM. What sets us apart is our commitment to serving individuals and families in need, regardless of their zip code. We strive to ensure that everyone has access to the support they require.

When visiting Minnie's Food Pantry, each family can expect to receive a diverse range of items. Our offerings include non-perishable foods, fresh meats, fresh produce, bakery items, and dairy products. To provide for the nutritional needs of those we serve, each visit typically results in a provision of approximately 70 to 150 pounds of food.

MINNIE'S ON THE GO: Minnie's Food Pantry is committed to serving the most vulnerable members of our communities, including our senior citizens living in low or fixed-income households. To ensure that these individuals have access to the nutrition they need, we deliver to four living facilities in the area. Many of the seniors we serve lack local family to assist them and rely on the services we provide to receive fresh meats, proteins, and dairy products throughout the month.

We recognize the importance of ensuring that our elderly community members receive the care and resources they require to maintain their health and wellbeing. That's why we are proud to offer our delivery service to these living facilities, and we are grateful for the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those we serve.

MINNIE'S PANTRY PROJECT: At Minnie's Food Pantry, we firmly believe that children hold the key to our future, and in order to make a lasting impact, we must begin early. That's why we have developed a program that focuses on empowering and supporting children from the start. Through this initiative, we have partnered with 14 schools to establish on-site pantries, ensuring that students have access to nutritious food throughout the school days. Additionally, we provide snacks to keep kids nourished and energized.

We also recognize that some families with school-aged children may require additional food assistance at home. That's why we have implemented Minnie's Family Food Boxes, which offer supplemental support to these families, ensuring they have the resources necessary to provide for their children's nutritional needs.

By partnering with schools and working directly with families, we aim to make a significant and positive impact on the lives of our community's children. We firmly believe that by investing in their well-being today, we are paving the way for a brighter future tomorrow.
