$5,000 Goal

Mother Dozier's Homeless Foundation:

We are excited for our fifth year of participating in North Texas Giving Day! In 2024, we used the funds to expand our operations and support women with children and youth in the Dallas County area who were experiencing homelessness and those who were at-risk for homelessness.

With our 2025 campaign, we aim to raise funds to educate, empower, equip, and execute our programs, while providing tools for training and workforce development for families. We aim to raise 25% of our fundraising budget through North Texas Giving Day. Thank you for supporting our organization. Please feel free to visit our website for more information.  www.motherdoziers.org

We seek to make homelessness SCARCE, SHORT, and SELDOM OCCURRING. Mother Dozier's Homeless Foundation serves women, children, and families who are experiencing homelessness or who are at-risk for homelessness. Overall wellness begins with HOUSING FIRST. Our ultimate goal is to provide the solution to those who are at-risk for homelessness and those who are experiencing homelessness through key partnerships and various partners and resources:  life development skills, career training, nonprofit organizations, and housing providers

Mission

Our Mission is to educate, empower, equip, and execute our programs for those who are at-risk for homelessness or who are actually experiencing homelessness to be self-sufficient by providing tools to increase skills and knowledge for career development training, thereby resulting in gainful employment and financial stability.

Needs

Although we would love to celebrate our achievements, we recognize that there is still much work to be done. Inflation rates are on the rise, causing the cost of essential items to increase by over 15%. As a result, more families are turning to us for assistance each day, as the need for shelter, food and clothing continues to grow. Unfortunately, we are also experiencing shortages to help provide shelter, exacerbating the challenge that the number of unsheltered women with children and youth is growing at an unprecedented rate. While this demonstrates an uninspiring trend of a problem, it also underscores a pressing need. Unsheltered women with children and youth often face disproportionate challenges in accessing the necessary resources and funding needed to become and maintain self-sufficiency.

Poverty is a significant factor in homelessness, and single-mother households are disproportionately affected. In Dallas County, 48% and in Tarrant County, 32% of single-mother households live in poverty. A report on April 5th, 2024, found that single mothers are particularly vulnerable to homelessness due to their lack of resources, support systems, and financial stability. Furthermore, with the fleeing of domestic violence these statistics illustrate a startling disparity that hinders the women, thus limiting their economic and societal impact.

'Mother Dozier's Homeless Foundation, Inc. is dedicated to filling this gap by providing education, life development skills opportunities and resources of guidance to women, thereby helping them to overcome these barriers and thrive as they overcome the homeless journey.

Our Needs:

Our organization is in great need of caring donors to help us make homelessness SCARCE, SHORT, and SELDOM OCCURRING through donations during the North Texas Giving Day Program!

1. Our number one need is a building to maintain operations.

2. We need matching funds to obtain a building.

3. Serve more constituents who lack shelter.

4. Expand our community outreach and emergency relief funds.

Your generosity will support and make the mission possible! Every contribution brings us one step closer to ensuring no child sleeps in the car, the park, or under a bridge! Join us as we make our mission possible!
