We are Nature’s Edge Wildlife and Reptile Rescue, a family-run wildlife rehabilitation organization based in North Texas. My husband, Mario, and I dedicate our lives to rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing sick, injured, and orphaned native wildlife, as well as taking in surrendered exotic reptiles and other non-native species that require lifelong care. Operating entirely out of our home, we care for anywhere from 2,200 to over 2,500 animals each year—all without outside assistance or volunteers.
The wildlife brought to us receives complete, start-to-finish care. From intake through treatment and, whenever possible, release, every native animal remains with us throughout its rehabilitation. The only exception is species we are not permitted to rehab long-term; at this time, that applies only to eagles, which are transferred immediately to permitted specialists.
We also provide sanctuary for exotic reptiles, amphibians and other species that are surrendered for various reasons. Some remain with us permanently, while others are adopted into safe, qualified forever homes.
Education is a key part of our mission. We offer community programs, school presentations, and specialized training for first responders on wildlife identification and safe handling. These efforts help reduce human-wildlife conflict and foster greater respect for the species that share our environment.
Running a rescue from our home comes with significant challenges—from specialized enclosures and veterinary care to round-the-clock feeding, cleaning, and monitoring. We receive no state or federal funding. Our work is supported solely through donations, the adoption of eligible exotic animals, and our own personal finances.
Your support directly provides veterinary care, food, enrichment, safe habitats, and educational outreach that benefits wildlife across North Texas. Every donation helps save lives and strengthens the bond between our community and the natural world.
Thank you for supporting Nature’s Edge Wildlife and Reptile Rescue—where every life truly matters.
