$15,000 Goal

R[4] Retreat Center’s main objective is to provide community and support to families of children/adults with disabilities through a variety of unique respite/retreat opportunities. By providing monthly events like lunches for moms, breakfasts for dads and retreats for the whole family to enjoy, R4’s goal is to build a strong community that will help and support families with no judgement or added stress. Our retreats also provide the opportunity for families to bond and network at our breakout sessions geared toward mental health and special education planning and transitions. But most of all, the families RETREAT and find rest, respite and connection with people who just “get it!”

Over the years, as we've gotten to know more families, we have begun to understand the great need for continued care for adults with special needs/disabilities once they age out of the school system. Services for these adults come to an abrupt end once they turn 21 and parents/caregivers are then left with many difficult decisions to make. Many are left with no choice but to quit their jobs to stay home and take care of their adult children because the options for them are scarce. There are several organizations who are actively creating safe spaces for these adults to find community and connection, but because they are few and far between, the waiting lists for these programs are often very long.

R[4]'s next phase of operations is to establish its own adult dayhab called The R[4] Oasis.  In partnership with SIL International in South Dallas/Duncanville, TX,  we are excited about the space they have offered to us to get this project going! With 7500sf of indoor space, it would allow R[4] to not only start The Oasis and have space to grow, but would also give us ample space to continue doing our retreats in the same space. The SIL campus includes 80 acres of incredible outdoor, nature filled amenities that The R[4] Oasis would have access to including but not limited to miles of hiking trails, indoor and outdoor rec space, a pool, soccer fields, volleyball court, nearby places for students to volunteer in the community and room to add more things on campus as needed. The campus, found at 7500 W Camp Wisdom Rd in Dallas, is a very central location right in the south/central Dallas city limits. This provides easy access for families from every part of the Metroplex to make use of R[4]'s different programs. And here's a bonus: the space also provides 4 admin offices for R[4] and The Oasis staff. It literally has it all!!

We would love for you to join us on campus to see what your investment in these precious adults and their families could do. Please contact Jamie Koesema if interested in visiting the location to see for yourself the amazing opportunity you have to get on the ground floor of something truly inspiring and empowering. Your gift will be absolutely transformational not only for the adults attending The Oasis, but also for their entire families for years and years to come!

Mission

Our Mission: R[4] Retreat Center is a Bible based organization that creates unique retreat opportunities to encourage, inspire and empower persons with special needs, their parents/caregivers and their families.

Our Vision: Over the years, we have been listening to and learning about the greater needs of this unseen and misunderstood population. As we have considered those needs, our vision has grown exponentially to include not only providing retreats and respite opportunities but also developing a residential village, adult dayhab and training center and sources of employment for adults with disabilities. The idea is to serve our families holistically from childhood through adulthood through respite/retreats, ongoing support, events, housing, dayhab care, job skills training and employment. By doing this, we hope to create a level of trust and comfort with the families as we get to know their kids as they grow up so by the time they are ready for our adult services, it is a smooth and easy transition for the whole family to place them into our care.

Needs

Start Up Monies to begin Phase 2 of our Impact Plan: The R[4] Oasis.

Our goal for NTGD is to raise $15,000 to get the ball rolling on this very important and much needed project.

Our BIG goal is to raise at least $90,000 from generous contributors and Kingdom investors to fully secure the space that our partner, SIL has offered to us to run The Oasis. That funding would provide the following: 1st/last month's to secure the lease on the 7500 square feet of indoor space designated for The Oasis and our 3rd Sunday Family Fundays, pay for 2 months of extra rent as we get set up, customize and renovate the space and provide start-up costs for insurance, licensing, training, etc.

R[4] is so excited about the ability to walk into this next phase of our operation side by side with SIL International! But we cannot do this alone. The cost of the facility that has been offered to us is outside of the scope of our current budget. So, we are looking for donors/investors like you who are excited to come alongside us, help us meet our goal and get involved in other tangible and personal ways through volunteering

Because the need is so great for this type of program, we know that spaces will fill up fast. Once running, The Oasis will be self sustaining and also provide added revenue for R[4] Retreat Center's other programs. It's definitely a win win for everyone involved.
