What We Do

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul FW Diocesan Council is a volunteer organization that provides assistance to those who have fallen on times of hardship or personal crisis.  Our unique approach is a one-on-visit in the comfort of their own homes when possible, listening carefully to their concerns, getting to know them, hearing their stories. Currently there are 13 conferences, providing help such as rent, utilities, other bills, along with offering emotional & loving support. Several conferences also offer food pantries, clothing, and school supplies.

The Fort Worth Diocesan council also serves on Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) which provides aid during local disaster recovery efforts.

Our Programs

The FW Council sponsors two systemic change projects:

  1. The Micro Loan Program assists neighbors dealing with crushing debt from predatory loan or unexpected expenses/emergencies, to empower them to rebuild their life free from poverty.  Your donations will help provide the collateral needed for our Micro Loan Program.  Help us help our neighbors to end the cycle of debt!!!

   2. The St Vincent de Paul Pharmacy provides access to free, often life saving, prescriptions for those without health insurance.

Needs

How you can help:

Give with purpose on September 19! Your gift matters and we are so incredibly thankful for our donors who have helped in previous years!

  1. Many people without insurance, will skip prescriptions if they feel they have to pay the rent or get food rather than spend money on a prescription.  Help us with providing access to those free medications so that vulnerable patients can live their healthiest life!
  2. Help us help our neighbors to end the cycle of debt! Your donations will help with the collateral needed to provide low cost loans to those in need.
  3. Help us help bring hope to people are in dire need for help pay their rent, utility bills, or other bills!

On September 19, if you donate to the Society’s Fort Worth Council between 6 a.m. and midnight your dollars will be stretched as Communities Foundation of Texas has agreed to cover all credit card fee transactions!
