On April 4, 2023 the Dallas Morning News published an article titled: Dallas theater groups struggling to bring back audiences post-pandemic. Now What? The article is about a well-known theater company in Dallas which lost more than $200,000 in both fiscal year 2020 and 2021, and despite the fact they cut their spending by 25% the first year and by a third the second. Thus, it’s not just losing the money, but theaters and performing arts organizations, like the Spectacular Follies, are working hard to bring their audiences back. We greatly need additional financial support to help with our upcoming shows. The Spectacular Follies Board has come up with a creative way to build our audience and let our patrons know that we are still in the show business with our Taste of Follies shows. Our performers are volunteering their time and stepping out to perform in Taste of Follies shows which are being performed at venues all over the Metroplex.
The mission of the Spectacular Follies is to preserve the traditions and legacy of the American performing arts for future generations, provide community outreach that inspires all age groups, educate by example and reinforce the vibrancy of seniors by presenting high-quality performances with Senior entertainers ages 55 and older.
The Spectacular Follies is a 501(C)3 organization that was established in 2006. Our organization has been fiscally responsible and has funded shows year-to-year since its very first show in 2008.
Every donation is appreciated and put to good use. We entertain audiences of all generations and have experienced a wonderful following of seniors, young people, and everyone in between since 2008. Please consider a gift to help the Follies continue its mission and expand our influence with artists in the Metroplex that are 55 and older. The Spectacular Follies seeks to fill a gap for one of the fastest growing populations in our community – our senior adults. Our volunteer cast makes us what we are, but we depend on ticket sales and the generosity of our sponsors and friends to keep the show going. We are determined to keep our seniors performing – entertaining other seniors, young people, and audiences of all ages. We want to do our part to ensure future generations are able to enjoy the performing arts. Our shows include the greatest music and words ever written by renowned composers and lyricists.

We welcome all 55 or better who wish to participate, help, or express themselves through theatre, both on and off stage.
