At St. Anthony Academy, building knowledge is more than learning about the world; it’s about thriving and becoming a positive part of it.

Located in the heart of South Dallas, St. Anthony Academy is an International Baccalaureate World School for the Primary Years Programme (PYP) where we nurture and develop young students as caring, active participants in a lifelong journey of learning.  One of five schools authorized in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, we are the only Charter School designated as an IB PYP campus.  Beyond the classroom our students are also impacting the culture of the campus through their commitment and leadership while participating in the St. Anthony State Champion Athletics Teams, Dance Team, Cheer Team, Chess Team, Boy Scouts Troop, and House of Blues Marching Band.  We are committed to educating the whole child.

St. Anthony is rated by the Texas Education Agency as a "Superior Achievement-Exemplary" school district. No Child Left Behind recognized 100 percent of St. Anthony teachers as "highly qualified."  And 95 percent of St. Anthony students meet State mandated grade level standards.  In 2018, we met (State of Texas Highest Rating) Standards: State Distinction Awards: Academic Achievement in Reading/ELA, Social Studies, Top 25% Closing The Performance Gap, Postsecondary Readiness Distinction.  The school serves 320 students in kindergarten through eighth grade, 154 boys and 166 girls. All students are of African American/Latino descent and of those 80 percent are economically disadvantaged as measured by participation in free and reduced lunch programs. Our students reside primarily in South Dallas, Oak Cliff and Pleasant Grove.

The Community Center provides a vital bridge between school and home and supports the school's mission by providing quality academic, arts education, social enrichment and physical activities.  The Community Center serves about 500 students and parents from St. Anthony School plus individuals in the surrounding community. It offers year-round intensive, academically focused out-of-school-time programming designed to support academic achievement for students, to provide classes and workshops for parents to develop better skills and to build solid partnerships among parents, students and teachers that places learning first and foremost.

Our Needs

For over 75 years, St. Anthony School & Community Center has been located in an under-served, urban-decaying neighborhood that remains hardest hit by decades of economic decline. Yet, children in this community desperately need and deserve St. Anthony services. And for the past 20 years as an award winning school, academically and athletically, we wish to continue preparing our students with the tomorrow's technology.
