Who We Are
The Southwest Transplant Alliance Foundation was established in 2018 to support the lifesaving mission of Southwest Transplant Alliance (STA).
STA is a non-profit organ procurement organization saving lives through the gift of donation. STA provides hope and healing to families in grief and to patients awaiting a lifesaving transplant.
According to Donate Life America's most recent statistics:
- There are more than 100,000 people on the transplant waiting list, including nearly 10,000 right here in Texas
- Another person is added to the waiting list every 8 minutes
- 13 people in the U.S. die each day while waiting for an organ transplant
How We Help
The STA Foundation provides care for donor and recipient families, inspires the community to honor the gift of life, and fosters initiatives that advance transplant science.
-
We Care
- Foundation programs honor the legacies of our donor heroes, celebrate the gift of life and provide critical financial support for transplant recipients and their families.
-
We Inspire
- Annual celebrations and community education events, like the Outlive Yourself Awards and the Hope Starts Here 5k, bring together our community of hope.
-
We Innovate
- Our team at STA is constantly learning and supporting innovations that advance organ donation and transplantation, support cutting-edge medical research, and drive life-saving advancements in the organ procurement industry. Specialized care for donors and their families takes place in our state-of-the-art organ recovery center - The Legacy Center - in Dallas.
