WHO WE ARE
Due to the growing rate of homelessness in North Texas and lack of emergency shelters, Streetside Showers is working very hard to meet the need for hot showers and hygiene care. Streetside Showers is a mobile-shower service based in McKinney, TX which provides hot showers, clean undergarments, and hygiene kits to individuals experiencing homelessness in North Texas. We are dedicated to meeting basic human needs, restoring human dignity, and improving the quality of life for our unhoused neighbors. We are the only dependable free shower provider in this region.
Besides providing hot showers, we also help the homeless by handing out: deodorant, lotion, hand sanitizer, feminine products, and other hygiene care items. Our shower service is personal since we take the time to develop a relationship with each one of our guests. After each guest takes a shower, we supply them with socks, underwear, and a hygiene kit so they have all the essentials they might need while we serve other communities. In 2020, we launched Streetside Closet, a 17ft converted U-Haul, so we can provide clothes at some of our shower sites. In addition to clothes, we also provide a hot meal at each of our locations for our guests.
HISTORY
Streetside Showers began as a simple desire to help our homeless neighbors. After watching a homeless man struggle to get clean in a public restroom, McKinney resident Lance Olinski, founder of Streetside Showers, realized just how important something as basic as a shower can be to a person living on the streets. From that point on, we purchased our first shower trailer and took to the streets to help the homeless in Collin County and across North Texas.
NUMBERS
Since our founding in 2017, we have provided over 40,000 showers and currently serve 6 North Texas communities and 4 Florida communities. Our 8 North Texas stops are in: Carrollton, Downtown Dallas, Greenville, McKinney (2 times a week), Oak Cliff, and Plano (2 times a week). In Florida, we service Cocoa, Kissimmee, Palm Bay, and Titusville. Streetside Showers operates like a bus stop, offering shower service at the same time and place every week so our guests can depend on us. We service approximately 220 people each week.
FUTURE
Our desire is to expand and help provide access to hot showers and hygiene care in new communities. Another way we want to grow is by servicing our current cities twice a week. Lastly, we want to develop new resources and help spread hope and dignity in different ways (eg: Streetside Closet & Streetside Table).
To offer hope and help restore human dignity to the homeless community in the form of a hot shower and personal hygiene care.
In addition to monetary support, we need volunteers and supplies.

We accept a variety of hygiene items (new and unopened) and clothing items (if used, must be clean in good condition), but here is a list of our current top needs:
-Disinfecting Wipes
-Travel size foot powder (1oz)
-Washcloths
-Razors
-Men's clothing (t-shirts, pants, shorts, shoes, belts, etc...)
