Under the baton of its founder, Maestro Robert Carter Austin, Symphony Arlington launched a successful debut season in 2000. Symphony Arlington’s continued growth has taken it from Tarrant County College’s 200 seat Roberson Theater in 2000, to University of Texas – Arlington’s 400 seat Rosebud Theater the following season. In 2005 Symphony Arlington moved to the MetroCenter performance space with a 1,750 seat capacity. This move facilitated growth by doubling classical concert attendance, and tripling pops concert attendance in 2006. In October 2010, Symphony Arlington debuted its eleventh season at the newly renovated and permanent home to Symphony Arlington, The Arlington Music Hall. Today Symphony Arlington serves the community as one of the core cultural attractions in Arlington.

The orchestra is comprised of 93 professional musicians. Over 19 different nations are represented in the musician roster and this talent is complemented with internationally renowned featured soloists.

Titled "London is Calling", Symphony Arlington's 2023-24 series will bring you masterworks by the many great composers who lived and worked in the city of London - Handel, Weber, Vaughn Williams, Lloyd Webber, and more. Highlights will include Elgar's "Enigma Variations" and Holst's "The Planets", plus dazzling performances by a distinguished roster of international guest soloists. As Samuel Johnson said, "When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life!"

Our Needs

Symphony Arlington is currently seeking operating funds to continue presenting the highest quality orchestral performances to the North Texas region.

For the last two years we have dealt with the devastating effects of the pandemic. Playing with a smaller number of musicians and an even smaller number of patrons in the office. For our upcoming season we'll again play with our almost 100 strong group of professional musicians. To that end, we need additional funds to ensure an exciting season. We'll be joined by eight soloists that will play at each of our season concerts.

The symphony needs your support to bring the beauty of classical music to the citizens of Arlington and to extend the educational programs we make available to the youth in our community.

Mission

Symphony Arlington is a 501(c)3 nonprofit with a mission to enhance the quality of life in our growing and diverse community by inspiring, entertaining and involving citizens and organizations through music concerts of superior cultural and educational value.
