While extreme weather events like the February storm and local pollution problems from dirty energy sources have made our work even more urgent, we're seeing a groundswell of North Texans who want to take action to secure a healthy, resilient future. To meet the pollution challenges we face and seize this hopeful moment, we're building capacity to reach out to community members in new and innovative ways that will make our organization more flexible. As we look toward returning to in-person organizing, we'll be deploying new strategies to organize North Texans to take control of the environmental future of their communities. Our specific needs include: funding to support efforts to connect with communities most impacted by climate change; support to conduct further research on climate solutions and environmental solutions that bring real improvement to our communities; funding for technologies to help manage and expand our outreach; and resources to develop educational materials to get more North Texans involved in environmental advocacy.
We're recruiting volunteers and teaching them how to organize people in their networks and get them involved in environmental campaigns that win real improvements in our lives. By becoming a volunteer, you'll get to work with other folks who want to make a difference on climate. You'll learn how to educate and organize others on climate solutions as well as how we can use local government processes to make progress on those issues. Change happens through simple actions. By having basic conversations about climate with people we know, building new connections in our communities, and working to educate elected officials, you can help make a real difference in the future of North Texas.
Texas Campaign for the Environment Fund (TCE Fund) empowers community members in North Texas to take action on urgent environmental issues and help create a healthy, resilient future. We educate and build relationships with communities on solutions to harmful pollution and climate change locally. Together we work to power our communities with clean energy, make our homes and buildings energy efficient and pollution free, and reduce food waste and plastic pollution. All contributions received on North Texas Giving Day will be used on projects to help create a healthier and more equitable North Texas.
