OUR RECENT ACHIEVEMENTS—made possible by Giving Heroes like you and our partnerships with local schools in low-income communities:

  • Delivered 124 hours of supplemental instruction directly to K-12 students.
  • Engaged 235 kids in academic enrichment activities and artistic expression.
  • Saw 95% of our participants improve their reading comprehension and writing skills.
  • Opened the door for our participants to visit a university campus for the first time.

Mission

Our mission is to empower youth from marginalized communities through the transformative power of the arts, particularly the art of poetry.

Needs

Approximately ninety-five percent of our expenditures provide direct services to youth from underserved communities. Your donation will help us offer safe places for kids who are vulnerable during out-of-school times. We offer 100-plus hours of supplemental instruction after school, dedicated teaching artists, books, writing supplies, and a venue for youth voices to be heard at our annual region-wide poetry writing and performance competition.
