On this Giving Tuesday, Turtle Creek Park Conservancy is reflecting on the extraordinary history and lasting beauty of the place we are privileged to steward. For more than a century, Turtle Creek Park has offered Dallas a sanctuary, a space where people find peace beneath the trees, wellness in open green space, and a connection to the natural rhythms that ground our community.
Today, our commitment remains the same: to honor the past while shaping a thoughtful and resilient future. Several important projects are now moving forward, each one strengthening TCP’s ability to inspire, restore, and welcome visitors for generations to come.
Caring and Securing Every Inch of Turtle Creek Park
Beyond major capital improvements, much of our work happens quietly, every single day. Our team oversees the ongoing care and security of all 20 acres, from the Turtle Creek shorelines to the winding paths, gathering lawns, and wooded areas. Every piece of litter is removed by hand, plant beds are tended with intention, and each corner is monitored to ensure TCP remains clean, safe, vibrant, and welcoming. This daily commitment protects the character of the landscape and preserves the sense of calm and wellness that visitors rely on.
A Landmark for the Future: The Monument Sign Project
A major step forward is taking shape across from Arlington Hall. The long-envisioned Monument Sign is now transitioning from concept to construction. Designs are finalized, and a contractor has been selected. Soon, the East Parcel will no longer be overlooked; it will proudly welcome visitors with an entrance that reflects Turtle Creek Park’s history, presence, and significance in the city.
Restoring a Treasured Feature: The Arlington Hall Waterfall Cascades
The Arlington Hall Waterfall Cascades once filled the area with movement and calm. Today, the water is still, and the landscape feels incomplete without the gentle sound that defined this corner of TCP. Work is underway to revive the cascades, and in the weeks ahead, we anticipate seeing water flow again. Restoring this historic feature will return a sense of tranquility and create a renewed place of reflection for all who visit Turtle Creek Park.
Completing a Critical Connection: Hall Street Bridge, Phase 2
Earlier this year, Phase 1 of the Hall Street Bridge project focused on cleaning and sandblasting the structure. Phase 2 will restore the railing so it aligns with the historic design found throughout the Turtle Creek Corridor. This work is essential to preserving continuity, honoring original craftsmanship, and ensuring a cohesive experience for all who cross through TCP.
On this Giving Tuesday, we invite you to help shape the next chapter of Turtle Creek Park. Your support — whether directed toward the Waterfall Cascades, the Monument Sign, Hall Street Bridge Phase 2, or ongoing care — strengthens a place that brings wellness, beauty, and connection to our community every day.
The Turtle Creek Conservancy is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization committed to the conservation, preservation and exceptional care of Turtle Creek Park and Arlington Hall, while creating a public space for physical and mental wellness, connection, entertaining, and educational programs.
Monument Sign - $125,000
With your support, we can build a new Monument Sign—a vital enhancement to the East Parcel that will leave a lasting mark on the future of Turtle Creek Park. This project is being made possible through a generous matching contribution of $40,000 from Greenway Investment Company, along with the leadership of board member Hilda Rodríguez and her team of experts. Community support is essential to launch this exciting project and bring it to life.
The Bridges of Turtle Creek - $156,000
Funding for the Bowen Street Bridge is secured—now we need your help to restore the Hall Street Bridge. Your gift will support cleanings, new railings, lamp posts, and long-term care through our 10-year beautification agreement with the City of Dallas. Together, we can preserve these historic bridges for generations to come. We want to thank you 2025 Board of Directors for their 100% match contribution.
Arlington Hall Cascades - $400,000
Revitalizing the soothing sounds of flowing water in Turtle Creek Park. This project will enhance the historic beauty and tranquility of the park by restoring the beloved cascades. Thanks to the generosity of Dr. Thomas H. McConnell III, who has provided a $100,000 1:1 matching gift, we are one step closer to bringing the falls back to life. Your donation will double in impact—help us restore this treasured feature for all to enjoy!
Security in Turtle Creek Park - $125,000 plus
This August, we recognized Security Awareness Month to highlight our commitment to safety. With your support, we can continue strengthening security measures to ensure Turtle Creek Park remains safe and welcoming for everyone.
Turtle Creek Park is 20 acres of natural beauty and a serene retreat in the heart of the city, free and open to all.
