About us:

HSC is a premier public academic health science center with six colleges focused on whole health. In addition to its colleges, the university is the proud home of multiple research centers and institutes and HSC Health, which delivers patient-centered care to Tarrant County residents. As a values-based institution, HSC is living out its mission to “create solutions for a healthier community."

HSC has an annual enrollment of more than 2,300 students and more than 12,100 alumni. Clinical and community outreach encounters with patients exceed 97,000 annually. The institution provides an annual economic impact of more than $600 million in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.

The nearly 1,500 faculty and staff at HSC are an integral part of a values-based culture founded on trust and promotes an environment which serves others first and is both visionary and collaborative, ideals which are fostered by integrity and respect.

HSC has also been designated as a military-friendly institution for the past 13 years

History

Founded in 1970, the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine anchors what today is one of the nation’s premier graduate academic health centers. Our curriculum is delivered in an interdisciplinary model which closely mirrors real-world clinical settings. Students learn to work in teams and to develop communication skills that are patient centric.

Collaboration is encouraged among the six colleges. In addition to TCOM, HSC includes the College of Biomedical and Translational Sciences, College of Public Health, UNT System College of Pharmacy, College of Nursing and the College of Health Professions — home to the departments of Physician Assistant Studies and Physical Therapy.

Clinical Practice

HSC Health, the clinical practice at HSC, is dedicated to improving the health and quality of life for people in Tarrant County and beyond. The team at HSC Health works toward being innovative leaders in efforts to create solutions for a healthier community. Education and research are used to keep patients at the center of care.

Needs

When you make a gift to UNTHSC Foundation, your impact is amplified with the gifts of many and supports our students, initiatives in education, research, and community outreach. Within those areas, we prioritize programs and projects that focus on Whole Health, address Health Disparities, and support Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the benefits those bring to our community.

We’ve highlighted a variety of programs worthy of your investment: Student Emergency fund, this is a critical part of the supports system that HSC provides our students. The RAM Free Medical Clinic brings critically needed free medical care to communities that need it the most across the metroplex; and FitSteps offers specialized exercise programming to cancer survivors and their caregivers at no charge.

You may designate your gift toward the program most meaningful to you by specifying your choice in the notes section of the donation form. You may also leave your gift undesignated. These gifts, which are unrestricted as to purpose, provide a flexible source of funding so that we can respond to priority needs as they arise.
