Serving the Dallas community for 55 years.

The USAFF's KIDFILM arts-in-education programs have served over 200,000 DISD Students and Educators and we have donated over 5,000 books to Dallas area families as part of our KidFilm Literacy Program.

Our YEAR-ROUND / MONTHLY PROGRAMS serve 30,000 children and adults each year.

Every year the USAFF brings artists to Dallas to present their works and interact with our audiences. Our guests include emerging talents, mid-career filmmakers and master artists.

The majority of our annual multicultural programs are FREE ADMISSION to the community as part of our outreach and education efforts.

Our Needs

Underwriting support is needed to provide arts-in-education programs for 5,000 DISD teachers and students, grades K-5. These programs serve primarily Title I schools in under-served neighborhoods, representing 90% people of color participating. The program is TEKS-compliant, DISD-approved and Study Guides are provided for all Teachers; Students and Teachers attend KidFilm during school hours.

Mission

The USA Film Festival is a 55-year-old, Dallas-based, 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the recognition and encouragement of excellence in the film and video arts. Programs include one of the most respected and oldest film festivals in the U.S. held each Spring in Dallas; the landmark annual KidFilm Family Festival (FREE admission and FREE books for families); monthly premieres, film series and filmmaker discussions, retrospectives, and extensive educational and outreach programs for over 7,000 DISD students and educators every year.

Equity Statement

The Festival believes that a great city should have access for all residents to educational opportunities and cultural programs, particularly for publics who have been historically underrepresented based on gender, race, religion, age, sexual orientation, education and socioeconomic status. The USA Film Festival is committed to serving residents from throughout the Dallas community by providing as many high quality, socially and culturally diverse program opportunities as possible with no financial barriers. Currently, our FREE ADMISSION programs include -- the entire KIDFILM program (with free books distributed to all families) and the majority of SPRING FESTIVAL programs.

Physical Accessibility -- All Festival programs are held in 100% accessible spaces/venues with direct access to a DART station. All facilities are ADA compliant.

Economic/Social Accessibility - Ticket prices are kept low ($10 and FREE for most programs) to ensure maximum accessibility. Our goal is to provide as many year-round programs as possible for the community as Free-admission. Currently the majority of all programs are presented as FREE ADMISSION - including our annual events, KidFilm Family Festival, and the Annual USA Film Festival (Spring Festival).

Cultural Accessibility - Recognizing the diverse audience base that represents the Dallas area populus, the Festival presents a broad, eclectic and multicultural slate of programs each year that we hope will appeal to a wide audience. We work especially closely with educators and community service providers (DISD, Parks and Recreation Center Directors, Boys and Girls Clubs Coordinators, etc.) to shape programming that is especially geared for their constituents, as well as dozens of social and cultural organizations and agencies throughout our community. (These programs are presented at no cost to our partner organizations.) We also work with dozens of cultural organizations every year to provide film programs with topics that support their mission goals. (These outreach programs are presented at no participation cost to our partner organizations.)
