You make so much possible for the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) and all those we serve. Your dedication and support have ensured our hungry Meals on Wheels clients are nourished with food and friendship, and that our clinical team continues seeing seriously ill patients through our hospice and palliative care programs. We know our important work would simply not be possible without you and because of your trust and support, we are celebrating our 90th Birthday!

VNA has remained resilient; always steadfast in our mission to help seniors age with dignity and independence at home. The hurdles we have overcome and the strides we have made over the last twelve months have made us better and stronger as an organization. Here's what your support has made possible:

Meals on Wheels:
For the VNA Meals on Wheels program, we came together with the help of you, our dedicated donors and friends, to continue serving our homebound seniors. Volunteers deliver food and friendship five days a week and we regularly welcome corporate and community organizations through our Days of Caring volunteer opportunities. VNA has also continued to add new clients from the waiting list to ensure more seniors are being helped.  We are proudly celebrating our 51st year of Meals on Wheels!

Hospice & Palliative Care:
As one of the oldest and most experienced hospice care providers in N. Texas, the VNA Hospice and Palliative Care clinical team continues to focus on helping our patients live life to its fullest with dignity, care, and respect.  Our mission is to provide quality of life through comprehensive, interdisciplinary care that addresses one’s physical, spiritual, emotional and mental health, while also caring for the families of those facing serious or life-limiting illness and loss. Each hospice care team, consisting of nurses, medical social workers, aides, therapists, chaplains, physicians and volunteers, are highly trained individuals whose main goals are to ensure we are caring for the whole patient and their loved ones.

Pediatric Hospice Care
VNA's Children's Haven Pediatric Program is committed to providing excellent care to pediatric patients and their families, and to helping families to establish goals of care in line with their desires and individual needs. Our team is here to support patients and their families from prenatal care and support to 21 years of age, and we coordinate our care with your healthcare team to best support our patients and families.

Giving Activity

Mission

The Visiting Nurse Association of Texas provides care to our community, enhancing health and well-being with compassion, dignity and integrity.

Needs

Volunteers: The best way to spend your lunch break is to deliver food and friendship to Dallas County seniors. for every route delivered by a volunteer, VNA saves enough to feed one senior for a week. Sign up at volunteer.vnatexas.org

Gifts: We are serving nearly 300 more seniors through Meals on Wheels than we were last year at a cost per meal more than $1 more. Your gifts will help us meet the growing number of seniors needing our service and the rising costs to deliver food and safety checks.

Supplies: Our Child Life Specialists work with seriously ill children their siblings and children/grandchildren of hospice patients to help them understand the illness of their loved one and the grief and confusion it brings. You can help us purchase supplies, such as memory-making crafts, to help children process and heal. Visit our Amazon Wish List: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1N3P1RZWSUVUO/ref=hz_ls_biz_ex
