Warm Up America! was founded in 1991 by Evie Rosen, whose vision was to create 7" by 9" sections which, when joined together, made finished blankets. This idea has blossomed over the years into a national program in which we now collect any size blankets, hats, scarves, gloves and other clothing items. Warm Up America! has provided comfort and warmth to hundreds of thousands of people in need during their most difficult of times.
Warm Up America! is committed to motivating, training and coordinating volunteers to knit and crochet afghans and clothing for people in need.
1. Monetary donations - this is our biggest need as our organization continues to grow!
2. Knitted and crocheted items - 7" by 9" sections, finished blankets, hats, gloves/mittens, scarves, baby clothing, and soap sacks. Check out our Current Needs page for a full list of items we need donated!
