School Supply Closet
The first day of school sets the tone for a student's entire school year. It's a day of introductions, finding your way around, learning classroom structure, and it's a day of brand new school supplies. Remember how fun it was to go to the store and buy school supplies, a lunch box, and a backpack? We want every child to experience the excitement of the first day of school and to have a great beginning to the school year so we provide over 1,000 students with school supplies each year.

Heather's Books
In the fall of 2018, the Weatherford ISD Education Foundation added a new funding priority called Heather's Books. Through this program, the Education Foundation gives each Pre-K student a $10 voucher each semester to purchase books from their school's fall and spring book fairs.  Many of our students purchase their very first book through this program.

Grants to Teachers
Since its creation in 2000, the WISD Education Foundation has been making teachers' dreams come true by funding grants to WISD teachers who submit proposals for innovative and engaging classroom projects. In May, we awarded over $91,000 that bring new programs to the fine arts, PE, history, reading, math, science, and more!

Teacher Scholarships
The Education Foundation supports teachers who are pursuing advanced degrees and/or certifications by awarding $2,000 in scholarships annually.

Our Needs

Encouraging a love of reading is what the WISD Education Foundation's Heather's Books program is all about. Launched in memory of Ikard Elementary 2nd grade teacher Heather Holland, the Foundation provides a total of $20 per Pre-K student annually to purchase books in their school's fall and spring book fairs. The program encourages a love of reading and provides many of our students with their very first book.
