Thank you for considering a donation to White Rock Rowing this North Texas Giving Day! We believe that an oar has the power to change lives, which is why we welcome youth from Dallas and the surrounding areas to experience the sport of rowing with us.
As a National Championship-winning club, we are committed to providing opportunities for public school youth in the Dallas area who might not otherwise have access to a rowing team. White Rock Rowing is the premier rowing destination in North Texas, offering programs for middle school, high school, adult, and adaptive rowers, including athletes with physical disabilities. Our robust summer learn-to-row program also helps introduce this incredible sport to new participants in the Dallas area.
This past year, our athletes had the extraordinary opportunity to train with Olympic Gold Medalist Will Satch, who visited our club three times as part of our mentorship program. For over two decades, we have partnered with the City of Dallas and the Parks and Recreation Department, helping young athletes from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds pave a positive path toward college and beyond.
Each year, our athletes compete against rowing giants from the Northeast, West Coast, Florida, and Mid-Atlantic states, showcasing their talents on a national stage. White Rock Rowing has earned numerous state championship titles and consistently qualifies to compete at USRowing Youth Nationals. For many of our athletes, rowing becomes a pathway to attending prestigious universities and earning scholarships to help make their dreams a reality.
However, we need your support to continue providing these opportunities. Your donation will help us equip our junior programs with the resources they need to succeed. Specifically, we are seeking funds to purchase a new fleet of ergometers and industrial air coolers for our unairconditioned boathouse where the athletes train.
Your generosity will directly impact the lives and futures of Dallas youth. Please consider donating to White Rock Rowing and help us continue to empower the next generation of rowers.
Thank you for your support.
White Rock Rowing changes lives by putting oars and opportunities in the hands of Dallas youth. We foster a culture of teamwork and leadership, preparing our athletes for success in sports and in life. We provide world-class programs for middle school and high school rowers – regardless of ethnicity or financial ability – because rowing and the doors it opens should be accessible to everyone. In close partnership with the City of Dallas and Dallas Parks & Recreation Department, we provide state-of-the-art training facilities for our athletes, and we steward Dallas property around White Rock Lake to give the Dallas public fun recreational activities.
CONCEPT 2 ERG MACHINES
Ergometers are critical to the training process as a foundational piece of equipment used daily by athletes to improve their power, speed, and technique in a boat. Replacing old erg machines with new, state-of-the-art machines will help improve on-land training for all rowers at all levels. In addition, the data collected from erg scores is used in many ways, including boat lineups, college scholarship opportunities, improved fitness, and technical improvements on the water.
AIR COOLERS-
Our rowing team works out tirelessly in an un-airconditioned boathouse, especially during the scorching summer months. The sweltering heat often hampers our training sessions and takes a toll on our athletes. Investing in air coolers for our boathouse will make a significant difference in creating a more comfortable and productive training environment. With the ability to lower the temperature and improve air circulation, swamp coolers will help our rowers train more effectively and stay focused on their goals. Your support for this fundraiser will directly contribute to our dedicated athletes' overall well-being and success.
Section 10.4. Nondiscrimination.
