ABOUT YOUTH REVIVE

At Youth Revive, we believe in the power of young people to create positive change in their communities. Founded in 2013, our mission is to close the civic empowerment gap by providing character and civic education to youth in low-income communities. We equip students with the knowledge, skills, and motivation they need to become character-driven leaders who are committed to rebuilding, reconnecting, and reviving their communities.

OUR PROGRAMS

Our flagship program, Ignite Me, is the cornerstone of our work. Ignite Me serves students both in and out of school, offering a comprehensive framework for civic character education. The program focuses on five key areas:

  1. Community: Teaching students the importance of community and their role within it.
  2. Identity, Capacities, and Assets: Helping students recognize their strengths and how to use them for the greater good.
  3. Fairness and Equity: Engaging students in discussions about justice and equity, and encouraging them to advocate for these principles.
  4. Media and Research: Equipping students with the tools to critically evaluate information and conduct responsible research.
  5. Community Action Project Day: Allowing students to put their knowledge into action by designing and implementing real-world community projects.

IGNITE ME PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS AND SUCCESSES

  • Increased Civic Engagement: Over the past year, 85% of our students reported an increased understanding of their civic responsibilities and a desire to be more involved in their communities.

  • Community Impact Projects: Our students have successfully completed over 50 Community Action Projects, addressing issues such as food insecurity, environmental sustainability, and social justice in their neighborhoods.

  • Recognition and Partnerships: Youth Revive has been recognized by local and national organizations for our innovative approach to civic education. We’ve partnered with schools, community centers, and nonprofits to expand our reach and impact.

  • Civic Growth and Impact: In FY24, we made a significant impact on the students we served—240 in high schools and 80 in middle/lower schools. Our programs led to remarkable increases in civic competencies:

    • Civic Knowledge (Identity, Capacities, and Assets) saw a 90% increase.
    • Civic Disposition (Community) improved by 56%.
    • Civic Disposition (Fairness and Equity) increased by 80%.
    • Civic Skills (Community Action Project Day) developed by 70%.
    • Civic Skills (Media and Research) saw a 69% increase.
  • These results demonstrate our success in empowering students with the knowledge, motivation, and skills they need to become engaged and informed citizens, ready to take action in their communities.
