Assistance League of Greater Collin County is a nonprofit, philanthropic, membership organization dedicated to transforming the lives of children and adults in the Greater Collin County community.  Founded in 1998, our all-volunteer organization invests thousands of hours each year in service to those in need of clothing, comfort, and care. We are part of a network of Assistance League chapters representing 20,000 members nationwide--all focused on making our communities a better place to live for everyone.

The Operation School Bell® program is the heartbeat of our chapter and the community partners who make it possible.  During the 2023-2024 school year, our volunteers delivered programs and services that can transform a child's confidence, self-esteem, and school performance.

  • We sponsored and coordinated six shopping days for students from 84 Collin County schools: 800 K-5 students selected their own new school clothes
  • We supplied 36 Title 1 elementary school nurses with underwear for school emergencies
  • We provided 5 middle schools with leggings, underwear, fees, and school supplies
  • We worked weekly as reading coaches for 21 second graders at a Title 1 school
  • We gifted 230 first graders with their own book to keep

Since 1998, Assistance League of Greater Collin County has provided new school clothes to more than 15,000 children through Operation School Bell®. With your donation, this year we'll bring excitement, confidence and greater self-esteem to 1,000 more.

But there is more...

Our members and the community volunteers who join our efforts demonstrate caring in action through numerous other programs touching the lives and hearts of people throughout our community.

  • Activities for nursing home patients
  • Crafts, magazines and activity kits for hospital patients
  • Handcrafted blankets and pillowcases for hospitalized children
  • Memory boxes for the bereaved parents of infants
  • Supplies and volunteer support for organizations serving the homeless in Collin County
