Matching funds are additional dollars contributed directly to organizations from a donor, company, or community partner (or some combination) to help encourage donations from others.

Matching funds are usually a 1:1 match, which allows organizations to say that your dollar will be doubled. Once secured, nonprofits can add matching funds to their profile to help mobilize additional contributions.

Ready to set up a match?

1. Contact your favorite organization(s) and tell them you would like to set up a matching fund for their North Texas Giving Day campaign.

2. Hammer out the details of the match with the organization. Is this match anonymous? How much will the match be? Will the organization get the full amount in the event they aren't able to meet the full amount? When will you send over the funds to the organization?

3. Encourage the organization to enter the match on their Giving Day profile for promotion. If they need help setting it up on the platform, they can email us at Support@NorthTexasGivingDay.org.

4. If not anonymous, encourage your friends to make a donation to the organization to help them capture the matching funds you set up!
