Rivertree Academy provides access to an excellent private, Christian education that considers our students’ unique circumstances. We serve families in the Lake Como community of Fort Worth. We approach education with a focus on the whole child, addressing spiritual, academic, and social-emotional needs, as well as building relationships with our students. Currently, in our tenth year of school, we serve 103 students in pre-K3 through 5th grade. All funds raised will support educating our children and equipping them with tools that can change the trajectory of their lives. This includes curriculum and instruction that focuses on addressing educational gaps, two meals a day, a full set of uniforms for the year, access to trauma-informed services, an after-school program that combines academic and extracurricular enrichment opportunities, daily transportation services from school, and field-trips that bring in class learning to life. By exposing our students to a holistic educational model rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, our hope is they will become invested community citizens who possess good habits for life.

Our Needs

Donations from generous community partners make this life-changing education possible every year for our students. Without their support, Rivertree would be unable to provide this opportunity for families in Como. Our greatest need is for partners to sponsor a student's tuition. A gift of any size towards a child's tuition gives them access to an education that can change the trajectory of their life.

Mission

Rivertree Academy educates under-resourced students in Como to live life well: following Jesus, thriving academically and transforming their communities. Our vision is to end the cycle of poverty in every family we serve by teaching students to learn well, love well, work well, and lead well.

Needs

Every child who attends Rivertree Academy has access to a private education tailored to meet their unique circumstances; curriculum and instruction that meets Texas state standards; two meals per day plus an after-school snack; uniforms for the year; access to free counseling and family support resources; before-school care that begins at 7AM and an after-school program that ends at 6PM; transportation to and from school; and field trip opportunities that focus on exposing students to new places and experiences.

Equity Statement

Rivertree Academy actively promotes and upholds equity and access by giving a voice to the families in the Como area, learning from them, and working with them to meet their needs. The services we provide have the potential to change the trajectory of the students we teach, and our vision is to end the cycle of poverty in every family we serve. We have created policies that ensure accountability, equity, and inclusion. We pursue diversity training, hire staff who look like our students, and celebrate holidays such as Juneteenth. In addition, our Head of School is a founding member of a local nonprofit that seeks to end racial prejudice and the injustice it creates. We are dedicated to rectifying historical inequities of those in the Como community and are always looking for new ways to serve our students, families, and the Como area through partnerships, community building initiatives, and service projects.
