PERIOD POVERTY FACTS

There are approximately 2,400 homeless women in Dallas, Tarrant and Denton counties. This number does not include the countless women who survive on government assistance, battered women who visit shelters and undocumented women who don ’t qualify for assistance yet barely make ends meet.

More than 150,000 female head of households live in poverty across North Texas.

25% of women struggled to purchase or access period products in 2023 due to income constraints.

33% of low-income women and girls miss work or school monthly because they can ’t afford period products

79% of female students in Texas public school grades 7 to 12 attend Title I eligible schools.

SHE SUPPLY IS MAKING STRIDES TO HELP WOMEN IN NORTH TEXAS

In 2023, we distributed just over 545,000 period products and new undergarments to women and girls in need, through our Community and Educational Partners. We rigorously vet partners to ensure the period products go directly to women and families in need. Many partners have grown with us since our first year and because of the increasing requests for basic needs support, in October our board voted to increase our partner reach by 40% for 2024,  and provided Q4 one-time donations.

We are proud to partner with Title I schools and trusted community agencies to distribute period products to women and girls across 4 of the most populated 16 counties that make up the North Texas area; Collin, Dallas, Denton and Tarrant.

DENTON COUNTY - Salvation Army – Lewisville, Cumberland Youth & Family Services, Denton County Friends of Family, Hope Center, Denton Freedom House & N3 Food Pantry

COLLIN COUNTY – Blake’s House, Refresh NTX, & Love Pacs

TARRANT COUNTY – 6Stones, Community Link, Ft. Worth Hope Center, Girls, Inc., & Safe Haven

DALLAS COUNTY – Citysquare, The Family Place, Ebby House, WEW, Vision for Families, Nexus Recovery Center, and RL Turner Women’s Athletics

The number of women and teenagers we are able to serve depends on private donations.

Join me in helping others that need some help.  Any donation is very much appreciated!
