We need to raise $9,874 for Sitka!

Sitka was found in Houston....in horrible shape....unknown history typical of rescue.  What we found was even more disturbing than expected.  We can't imagine the pain and suffering he endured until he came into our hands, but we've made every effort to heal his suffering.  What price tag would you put on that?  The vets have come up with a course of action, and the cost is nearly $10,000.  We made a commitment to Sitka, and we will get him well, but need YOUR help.

More medical details are below, but just imagine sarcoptic mange as being the LEAST of your problems.  Cancer...being isolated...pain most of the time.  He's doing better now and his prognosis is excellent with treatment, but it's going to be a long treatment time for him.

His sarcoptic mange is cleared so he can begin Chemo for CTVT. Canine transmissible venereal tumor (CTVT), also known as transmissible venereal tumor (TVT) or Sticker's sarcoma, is a transmissible cancer that affects dogs. CTVT is spread by the transfer of living cancer cells between dogs, usually during mating

Foster option: He should be kept separate from other animals while going through treatment since his CTVT is contagious (to animals only) and his immune system will be compromised. If anyone does not have dogs, or has a section of their home that they could use for quarantining for about 8 weeks or so that would be willing to help him, we (and he) would be so grateful. As soon as his chemo is completed and he’s reevaluated, we could move him to a different foster.
