The Garland Pawsibilities Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program is going through a "rebirth", of sorts. After almost 10 years of Spay/Neuter surgeries for Community Cats being sponsored and paid by Garland Animal Services, we now find ourselves struggling to revamp the program that services, strictly, City of Garland Citizens. The Garland Pawsibilities TNR program wants to continue the extra services it has provided and colony managers have come to rely upon:

1. The coordination and distribution of supplemental cat food.

2. Continued TNR support through supplying traps and, in the future, surgical support through Texas Coalition for Animal Protection (TCAP).

3. Ability to purchase discount flea meds that are used for the health of the community cat colonies.

In spite of the challenges thrown our way, the Garland Pawsibilities TNR program has sterilized over 6,000 community cats over the past ten years. TNR has provided medical care for a several cats, sponsoring limb amputations, flea treatment, vaccinations, blood work and antibiotics.

The Garland TNR program is made successful by the dedicated care provided to the community cats by the colony managers (caregivers). As much as possible, the Garland TNR program tries to ensure that Garland community cats are well fed. In order to support that effort, over 50,000 pounds of cat food have been distributed, thanks to the Rescue Bank of Greater Goods Charities.

There is a need to fund future TNR surgeries as well as provide medical care that cannot be provided by the colony manager nor Garland Animal Services. When traps are damaged, lost or stolen, the Garland Pawsibilities TNR program purchases the traps. Bottom line, funds are still needed to help support and maintain the Garland TNR program.

Please, help us continue to curb the community cat population!
