Support DFW Humane Society and pets like Hershey!

As the Operations Manager for DFW Humane Society, I am fortunate to witness the resilience and spirit of the animals in our care every single day. Our shelter is more than just a safe haven—it is a place where hope thrives, where second chances are real, and where the love and generosity of our community make all the difference.

Each animal that arrives at DFW Humane Society has their own story, and while some of those stories are difficult, they are far from over. We believe that every dog and cat deserves a chance to live their best life, no matter what challenges they’ve faced or how long it takes to find their forever home. Being a no-kill shelter means we have the opportunity to give these animals the time and attention they need to heal, grow, and be ready for that next step.

One of the most remarkable animals we’ve had the pleasure of caring for is a cat named Hershey. Hershey came to us with a mysterious skin issue that has stumped even the specialists. Despite countless tests and treatments, we’ve yet to find the exact cause of her condition. But what stands out the most about Hershey isn’t her medical mystery—it’s her incredible personality and her fighting spirit.

Hershey is truly a volunteer favorite. She has this way of drawing people in with her charm, her love for scratches, and her endless purring whenever she’s given a treat. She doesn’t let her skin issues define her—Hershey has a zest for life, and she spreads joy to everyone she meets. Her resilience is inspiring, reminding all of us that there’s beauty and strength in perseverance.

Thanks to the unwavering support of our community, we’ve been able to provide Hershey with the best care possible. Without your donations, we couldn’t afford the vet visits, the special treatments, or even the daily comforts that make her feel safe and loved. Hershey has been with us for some time, and in many other places, her future might have been bleak. But here at DFW Humane Society, she is given the time, patience, and compassion she deserves while we continue to search for answers. We are committed to helping her, and every animal like her, live a life full of love.
