I adopted Chance from Fort Worth Animal Care & Control on January 23, 2012, after seeing him on the euthanasia list. From that moment on, Chance shaped every major decision I made. His greatest impact was his unwavering ability to welcome and guide the hundreds of foster dogs we took in, most of whom also came from the Fort Worth shelter. He not only taught them the rules of the house but, more importantly, how to love, trust, and prepare for their forever homes.
Even after he crossed the rainbow bridge on November 25, 2023, his legacy continues to live on. Chance is the reason I remained deeply committed to volunteering, fostering, and eventually founding a nonprofit to support every animal that enters the doors of Fort Worth Animal Care & Control. With nearly 20,000 animals passing through the shelter each year and 600 currently in foster homes, your donation to Cowtown Friends helps provide the love and trust Chance instilled in our foster dogs through the enrichment program and foster supply closet.
