Hey there! Etheridge Farm Fosters here to beg you for your help raising money for Dallas Pets Alive. If you've been following EFF for a while, you know that most of the animals we foster are fostered through Dallas Pets Alive. Right now, Truffle, Dumpling, Mikan, and the Monster Mash litter are all DPA animals. That means that DPA covers all their medical needs, networks them to find their forever families, and more. DPA is an incredible organization that Carl and Allee have been working with for over nine years now. When they moved out to BFE in East Texas, they could have chosen to find a new and local group to volunteer with, but DPA has their whole hearts, so Allee begged to please please PLEASE be allowed to still volunteer with them despite the geographical distance.
Carl and Allee simply cannot do what they do without DPA... and DPA can't continue its mission without the help of generous donors like you. DPA keeps growing, and unfortunately, our growth has outpaced our financial needs. We desperately need more funds to help with all the major medical expenses this rescue incurs. EFF alone has cost DPA thousands this year as they've dealt with the coccidia menace and TNVRing a nearby feral cat community!
North Texas Giving Day is the biggest fundraising event of the year, and it's particularly special because the possible match donations. If you donate now, your dollar goes farther than it would otherwise. Also, you make Allee do a happy (and terribly uncoordinated, flailing, extremely unsexy) dance every time you donate. Please help if you can. Allee might even post a video of her happy dance if you raise enough.

Why Your Generous Gifts Are So Urgently Needed
Your support during North Texas Giving Day is not just a donation; it's a lifeline. Every gift you make goes directly to programs that are transforming the lives of animals and their humans. Our Foster and Adoption program is a beacon of hope for the most at-risk animals in our partner shelters, while our preventative programs—like PASS, Dogs Matter, and Bark Dorm—work tirelessly to keep pets out of shelters and in loving homes. These initiatives are not just about rescue; they're about building healthier, stronger communities where animals and people thrive together.
The need is urgent. Many of the pets that come into our care have medical conditions so severe that shelters simply can't provide the care they need. Over a third of the animals we help are Major Medical Cases, requiring $1,000 or more in medical expenses. In 2023 alone, we spent more than $400,000 on treatments ranging from basic vaccinations to heartworm treatment and life-saving surgeries.
This year, as we've taken on the incredible work of Dogs Matter and face the overwhelming overcrowding in North Texas shelters, the number of animals in our care has more than doubled. For the first time, we have more than 500 animals relying on our programs. While we've made strides in fundraising, the financial demands have outpaced our resources.
