The Humane Society of North Texas (HSNT) has the only large-scale ranch in the DFW area that provides support for equines needing to be rehomed or rescued from cruelty and abuse.

We are uniquely positioned to meet the needs of horses in North Texas through veterinary care, rehabilitation, training, and adoptions. HSNT's 33-acre ranch is located in Johnson County, with a 12-stall barn, covered arena, storage shed, four quarantine pens, and nine pastures, plus staff offices.

Since January 1, 2022, we have facilitated more than 160 equine adoptions! We know the need is great as our staff continues to partner with local law enforcement, yielding more calls and rescues and seeing more families needing to surrender their equines for a variety of reasons. We are here for the horses, but we know we cannot save these majestic animals without our community's help.
