At Conrad High School, we strive to be the Gold Standard for excellence in everything we do. Our amazing Conrad Theatre Company models elite excellence on campus and does the best with what we have. We have so much potential and all we need is a little help to fully realize it.
At Conrad High School, our resources are upcoming, but we can overcome it together. Every rehearsal and show we start in a circle. Our company circle is our place to laugh together, sharpen our skills, and encourage each other.
Each year, we put on four full theatre productions, with set pieces, props, costumes, sounds, and lights. We encourage each other to the best of our abilities and to overcome differences
The Conrad Theatre Company members are encourages to try our hardest in everything they do. When we approach a problem, we try to have the best solution. We may not have what other programs have, but we find a way to feel successful and not let it be a disadvantage.
We wish to put more funds into costumes. We are planning a massive fall show this year with all the unique costumes, props, and sets. Currently, we do not have many of the costumes required for the plays we are doing this year. Including not just the fall show but also our One Act and Spring Show later on in the year.
One of our favorite traditions as a company is to do a good show circle right before every performance. It is a time I look forward to each production because I get to hear each cast member encourage and celebrate each other. Every time I look around at the circle and I wish more than anything that I could have given this group better and higher quality costumes that match the energy and dreams of each of the theatre students. With your contribution you’ll be able to help our company circle shine on stage.
Last year during North Texas Giving Day, we were so grateful to have raised $510. We were able to purchase each leading role their costumes and purchase time period shoes for each cast member for our one-act play in the “Anatomy of Gray”. We recieved exemplary points in design from all of the judges! This year, we are in a new category and the competition is steep as we advance in terms of what these campus' are able to make and purchase. We need the extra funds now more than ever to advance and level the playing field. This year, our goal is to match and double that of last year’s.
I teach our Conrad kids that obstacles are not roadblocks but a chance to get stronger. Our kids have so much talent and are eager to show the world what we are capable of. We would love for you to be a part of our theatre company show circle and encourage us this year with whatever support you can give.
