Steph's 50th Birthday for Fortress

I can't say I've been looking forward to my 50th Birthday, but when I realized it fell within a week of NTxGD, I knew exactly how to celebrate. I'm hoping that 50 of my friends and family will help me celebrate 50 trips around the sun with a gift to Fortress!

Ron, the girls, and I first learned about Fortress more than 20 years ago, and I've been involved in one way or another ever since. My days helping out in the preschool are long behind me, but my admiration for the work our teachers and volunteers accomplish in those classrooms is never-ending. You can't walk into Fortress's building and not immediately feel the love, the joy, and the passion for our mission. Every employee exudes it, and every child basks in it.

These days, I'm blessed to serve as the Chairperson on Fortress's Board of Directors - a role I didn't feel qualified for at first, but that I felt called to tackle. I've learned so much more about the work we do and why we do it. I would not ask for this gift if I didn't believe in Fortress with all my heart. I do. I hope you'll celebrate with me by believing in it a little bit, too. ~Steph
