“Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all the darkness.” -Bishop D. Tutu

As an employee of Youth Equipped to Succeed, I have the honor of seeing first-hand how our positive youth development programs bring hope and connection to K-12th grade students! North Texas Giving Day is this week, and I have set a personal goal to raise $2500 to support the Youth Equipped to Succeed (YES) mission of imparting hope and combating isolation.

Students desperately need advocates who will fight for them, and they need to be equipped on how to overcome adversity and build resilience. It costs $7.80 for YES to reach a single student, and last school year, we impacted 242,229 K-12 grade students. Imagine 2.5 AT&T Cowboys Stadiums filled with children - that's the scale of YES's impact. Any level of donation is sure to transform a student's life.

Thanks to a generous donor match, your donation of any size will be DOUBLED, then TRIPLED by another donor match for funds raised by employees, making 3X THE IMPACT on students in our community!

I appreciate your support in bringing hope, connection, and purpose to young lives.

Grateful for you! -Courtney

About YES

Our philosophy is, “A connected student is a protected student.®”

At YES, we drive catalytic change in the lives of K-12th grade students through our positive youth development programs of Motivational Experiences, Wellness Education, and Peer-to-Peer Mentoring. Last school year, we gave 1,956 programs impacting 272,274 students, parents, and educators!

What makes YES unique? Because we have served as a trusted resource to parents and educators for over 21 years, we are given the opportunity to impact students during the school day. Whether it’s a one-time big assembly in a gymnasium or weekly meetings in a classroom, we positively interrupt their day by giving them something they aren’t expecting: hope and connection.

Our programs promote resiliency. We aim to increase protective factors in students’ lives such as family support, caring adults, positive peer groups, a strong sense of self, future aspirations, and engagement in school and community activities. Equipping students to say, “YES!” to their dreams and goals also empowers them to say, “no,” to risk behaviors such as drugs and alcohol, unhealthy relationships, sexual activity, bullying and cyberbullying, dropping out, and in the most severe and tragic cases, self-harm or suicide.

We choose hope because hopelessness keeps isolation and loneliness alive. Without hope, students believe the lie that they have no value, no purpose, and no worth.

It’s our responsibility to equip the younger generations, to guide them, and to protect them.

Thank you for saying "YES!" to supporting students this North Texas Giving Day!
