Next 42 Education Initiative: From Behind the Curtains to the Classroom. This initiative is designed to grow our educational and continuing education base to include Historically Black Colleges and Universities' theatre departments in our cast and crew for Season 43.
The purpose and mission of The Next 42 Education Initiative: From Behind the Curtains to the Classroom is to expose African American students to theatrical works that give a voice to experiences that reflect their lives. Jubilee Theatre believes that our educational outreach is not a simple push for only underserved black communities but to all communities of African Americans.
The Next 42 Initiative: From Behind the Curtains to the Classroom is designed to serve 4200 students across North Texas, provide 4200 professional development hours to budding theatre and production professionals across Texas, as well as add $42,000 to our operating budget for education programs. Our partnership with the HBCUs in Texas will allow us to reach our goal of 4200 professional development hours. We will work with the colleges and universities to bring their theatre programs to our theatre for hands-on opportunities in working with our Artistic Director, D. Wambui Richardson, and Associate Producer, Charles Jackson Jr.
